Why photography? And why “street photography”?

Simply put, my curiosity; and the compulsion to capture the gesture, quirkiness, and rawness of places like London’s East End - a place I’ve called home for two decades now.

My curiosity has since driven me to seek out and arrest similar motifs around Bangkok (a city I’ve also called home), China, Cuba, and around Europe. I’m also compelled to capture the essence, spirit and emotion of cultural events like London’s Notting Hill Carnival.

I’m passionate about experiencing these motifs and emotion and driven to synthesize them into images that express what I perceived and felt when clicking the shutter button - and for viewers of my work to feel something of this themselves.

I find the need to regularly print, create self-published books, and show my work publicly in exhibitions; and I look to connect with those who appreciate these creative forms, whether they are fellow photographers or those that share my passion for the photographic print and book.
